Yes I believe those are pottery shards. Check out the spot you found them in for other artifacts.

Definetly pottery with some nice cordage imprints. Very cool!

Three pieces twd the R sure look like an ear of corn rolled on the wet clay for effect. JMO. Sweet pieces.

nice finds congrats HH

No doubt pottery shards. Should be some stone artifacts nearby. Good Luck!!!!! :4leafclover:

Yes pottery and I really like the cord marks. Those would look real nice in a frame when you find the points in that spot. Put them all together

Definitely Pottery Shards. You need to check that area carefully for Points and Beads.

You found a spot when you found those! Where there is pottery there is points.... And usually a lot more. They didn't bring pottery with them everywhere.. It means they stayed there for a period of time.... The two on the left appear to be cord marked.. the other three are no doubt corn cob marked. Nice finds.

thanks for the input everyone...it is interesting that you all could recognize that some of the patterning was a rolled corn cob. I appreciate the expertise!

Post your new finds from there... there will be more.
