Natural?

Had this for a while because I thought it looked like a mortar type deal, never really thought it was, figured it was just one of those natural tricks, but I do wonder sometimes. then the other day and old timer was looking at my stuff and seemed pretty sure it was native, still not convinced but maybe it’s worth an ask, I did dig it up in a test hole loaded with flakes and a few broke tools. The thing that bugs me is if the cup was worked down wouldn’t it be smoother? Worth mentioning found on a bluff a mile or so from water

If it were manmade the worked side would be smoother than the unworked side. Although it looks like there's a lot of mineralization on the 'worked' side, it doesn't look smooth under it.

I have to agree with Emil's excellent observation. Sorry, appears unusual but natural. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah that’s what I thought, I can see how sitting among other real things with a grind stone sitting on it how he could have been mistaken, but I’ve always agreed with what you guys said. He just got me thinking maybe I was the one being too critical. Appreciate the input.

Looks like it would make for a nice soap dish.....although my wife would say no way!
