I figure it was prime trapping area back in the day.

I have one private acreage to hunt so far.

I can not help you with the laws for Petosky MI, as I have never heard of it. Can you tell us what it is close to.

Hey Jeff... I was born and raised in MI. (Southwest area 39yrs). Moved to TN. in 94. At the time there was a "Hoosier Law" in effect. This law states... all Hoosiers MUST register at the border before entering MI. Aren't you a Hoosier? Be sure to stop, register and get your GPS ankle bracelet.

Price when selling is one.
Their natural appeal too, but whatever if they don't interest you.
For native artifacts you'll need to stay on private grounds.
Find a campsite.
Often near a tributary or water or a natural vantage point.
Eroded areas along them, or stream beds gravel /stone accumulation sites, or like you are familiar with, tilled areas.

Annual leaf drop added lots of depth over the years in many areas.

And don't forget all county roads have check points also! You must get bracelet and the large magnetic H to place on both front doors while visiting.
