We had to stay close to home as we only had a 2.5 hrs detecting window. Cru'dad decided we should finish off the low yield Roman Site that he had been doing for the last 2 hunts.
We thought we may get about 5 scrappies as we were coming off the edge of the Site. However we had none!
If it wasn't for the unusual Lead Cloth Seal & Tudor Button, I would have called it a blank!

Cru, glad you still managed to find a couple to put a smile on your face.

So I have always wanted to ask....what is a scrappie?

These Tudor buttons are always nice to find, however they don't have a special name here. Did you ever found an openwork Tudor button?

That large silvered button would have made my day.

Still a nice day to detect! :occasion14:

A Roman Bronze Coin with very little detail left, most UKers call them Grots.

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Cru, skunked to you is a great day for me lol. Always nice to get out and hunt though, it's not always about the finds.

Agreed.
What I forgot to say was the gale force winds & the mud that stuck to the boots & spade.

Nice assortment, Thanks for sharing!!! "D"

You poor lad! Only a handful of old stuff, then a nice English pub! What a life.....

A bad day detecting is better than a good day at work ;)
