Neat eBay Find My Great Grandfather Had Made...

My Great Grandfather owned and operated a store for many years. My wife recently found a measuring spoon with bottle opener that he had made to advertise the store on eBay. Nice piece, I'm glad she found it. None of my living relatives remember these.

Patent date on the reverse is 11-24-14. So, older than I thought it was. I haven't had any luck yet finding the patent.

Looks like the original patent from 1914, was for a bottle opener/cake turner. The 11-24-14 patent date seems to have been used on at least ten bottle opener combination tools including the measuring spoon. The manufacturer seems to be J. L. Sommer Manufacturing Company, "Steel and Metal Novelties for Advertising" in Newark New Jersey.
