Neat Folk Art

Hello, I went back to one of my favorite thrift stores (it's a shame it's so far away) and picked up some neat stuff. I wanted to post a really neat piece of folk art from the nick-knack shelf. It isn't my area of expertise, but I could tell from the hinges it was old, and for $5, it wasn't much of a gamble. Let me know what you think

That was my first impression before I saw your reply, only because I see a lot of this kind of stuff.

GC, As long as you like it, that's all that matters. Not everything is going to be a money maker. It's cool looking and I may have bought it myself to give to my sister. She collects frogs.

Looking closely at the paint job on it, I think it is quite old (not sure if I would call it an antique). The patina on the paint is not even nor does the woodwork look like it was done by unskilled hands. I do a lot of wood finishing and painting, and if I could make a new paint job look like that, I could quickly get rich doing repaints on fishing lures and duck decoys.
