Found this at a private home this summer, dating to the early 1800's..it is about an inch long by half an inch wide. There are 4 small stones along the side which appear to be pearls and one small stone at the end(bottom?) which is purplish (amythyst?). It is fairly heavy so appears to be solid rather than hollow. All I can think of is that it may be part of a necklace?? Any ideas? age of it?
Thanks

I can't see from the picture if there's a hole for a wire (for stringing) or for a pendant mounting.

It kind of reminds me of the knob end of an old-fashioned ladies' hatpin.

Looking forward to what you find out!

Nan...there is no hole on the end of the stem...whatever was there is broken off or it was glued or soldered to something..

Can we get better pics of the side with the "pearls" and the end with the stone? Too elusive to tell from the present pic. Thanks! -Noodle
