Detector(s) used
Sand Shark, Ace 250
I was wondering if anyone has a good handle on the depth of the Tesoro Sand Shark. I am particularly interested on the average the depth I could expect in inches in wet and dry sand? Assuming the dry sand also is fairly low on mineralisation, and of course the machine is tuned and adjusted correctly. I am very much interested in purchasing one soon. I have friends that have this machine and I must say I'm impressed with it's construction. Right now I use the Ace 250 and have had great results with it. So what would be the depth on say a quarter, nickle, and dime in wet and dry sand with this machine...also on a gold or silver ring of about 6 grams in the same type of sand?? I am new member of Treasurenet and I go by Deepseeker 1...I find all of the members ideas and inputs a great source of wisdom to this wonderfull hobby. I hope that someone can help me. You can also e-mail; wjpnply@hotmail.com Thank You...and Happy hunting everyone! ???

The Sand Shark is a PI and being so it is very deep in either wet or dry sand. I have found gold rings at depths of about 14 inches, but that is not only as deep as it goes. If you are finding coins at only six inches, that only means that is as deep as they are where your at. The PI's love long tiny pieces of iron too so you could dig deep holes for hairpins. This is one of the reasons Excals are so popular because they disc out small iron and still report on good targets near by unlike other detectors.

You will find the batteries never seem to run out on this machine either. Get a larger coil too and think about a Clean Sweep Coil for covering lots of sand fast. More area covered equals more chance of going over a target!

I'd contact Joe (USA) for a good price. snows-metal-detectors@earthlink.net

Good Luck,
Sandman
