Found yesterday in a field appears to be made of pewter roughly an inch long and 3/4 of an inch wide may have been broken due to a point at narrow end thanks in advance

I believe that is a piece of costume jewelry of some sort.

Almost has a shoe clip look to it.

With that much nice detail and pointy end it could be a pendant. The pointy end is where the chain loop once connected.

My logic behind this is...

IF i have been ignored... for whatever reason... then I should return the favor.

AND... perhaps the person who I have tried to "befriend" does not like me or my posts... again... therefore why should I help or reply.

i think aarc has the id nailed down.
if there were any signs of the rear attachments it would be a Victorian era shoe button cover.
those are pretty rare finds. For me anyway.
