Found this cut silver today and was wondering if someone could ballpark me a date on it. Looked them up but I cant tell which kind it is. Thanks for any help.

I found a 1/2 real not far from this that was very badly worn that I could make out the lion in the crest and the sp out of the word hispan and a bit of the column and swag. But this doesn't look like that type of real...or at least those years. If I had all four quarters it would be bigger than the half but not huge

It is a pistareen. I'm going to GUESS 1720-1770. NICE find! I hardly ever get them, and I dig a lot of colonial spots.

Thanks smokey, yep, I found a pic of a 1727 pistareen that another treasure net poster found and that's exactly what it is. Thanks for the help guys, your the best. Wish it would have been a whole one but I love it.

It is neat to find a cut quarter of a Spanish pistareen.
