need help I.D'ing rock.....

Hello Folks....

While golfing today I looked down and spotted this 'rock'. It has a greenish cast and looks like it may be fossilized (petrified?) The surface is striated and it's fairly heavy.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

looks like green tourmaline to me
now tourmaline comes in several colors and shades of green, pink and black...heres an ebay link to show you.... yours is darker. the prized tourmaline is deep pink or red they call it...

No, I'd say that is agatized petrified wood. The structure doesn't look like tourmaline.

Where was it found Georgia South Carolina North Carolina Virginia maybe

Try to find green petrified wood then look at green bannded rhyolite.
