Need Help identifying Carved Soapstone Piece?

Hi and want to say thank you in advance and hope all is doing well. i am in need of some identifying help on this piece. i think it is soap stone and is done well. It also has a signature which is hard to make out, I can make out si or t The piece is of a seal. i think it is carved soap stone. i am not sure of the age, but looks to have sat around for awhile as there is thick dust on it when i got it, but used canned air to get some of it off. I hope somebody on this forum can help me in any form. Maybe the signature. I appreciate your help.

Is a nice looking piece!! The base looks like soapstone. Is the seal made of wood? Or maybe painted?

I can't help any on the initials. Have a hard enough time with my own writing!!

Great idea Grant! ...Unless the piece was made in California or something. But seals are/have been a popular subject with the Inuit and Alaskan people.

I have seen similar pieces in Canada gift shops ..
