Need help identifying find...please!

I am new at all of this and need some help. I have found this coin and have been searching for info on it. Can anyone help identify and give me an aprox. value? I have not done any cleaning on it or anything. Have read not too. Also, where can I take it to authenticate it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looks to me like a Spanish 8 reals (piece of eight).
I assume it's silver.
