Need help identifying this relic

[PA Sleuth]

Made of brass or copper, greenish patina. Dime added for size. My initial guess was moveable type from a printing press, but that doesn't make sense because it is indented. Is it a leather stamp?

I would say type off of a letterpress and the wood block it was attached to has rotted away. Edited:::: you said indented. I am wrong and your idea sounds right then.
