Need help identifying

I was given this as a gift from a homeless man who constantly hikes and rides his bike all over the southwest. He didn't give any details. Does anyone know anything about it?

I don't know a lot about SE artifacts but that one has a Midwest look about it. Similar to a Dovetail or Kirk.

Like Newnan said, it looks like a Dovetail or Kirk with a broken ear to me, maybe St Charles Cornor notch, who knows without knowing where he picked it up at it is very hard to say.
