Need help ID'ing an item I found years ago

Hi, I have found some arrowheads and artifacts over the years but I'm definitely no expert. I was walking a sandy site years ago and was finding lots of chips and a couple points. There was no other rocks here, just sand. When I saw this blue-looking stone, I first thought it was part of the top to an old blue-colored bottle top, but it wasn't. I showed it to a few collectors and got some guesses, but still haven't found out anything. If you know what is, PLEASE let me know and how it was used. I would love to solve the mystery. Thanks!

They look really cool. Maybe you can re photograph them so that they are centered and a bit lighter. With better pics, I am certain that someone here will be able to I.D. them for you. Thanks for sharing them.

That is one awesome piece of Black Walnut!

I think it is a piece of water worn aqua glass from a mason jar or another heavy antique glass item, IMO.

Glass was my first impression as well. It just seems uniformly worn and rounded and there was no other junk of any kind in the location it was in. Is there any chance that Indians could have taken pieces of glass from the early settlers and tried to make things out of them? I don't want to make something out of nothing but it really is rounded perfectly in all directions. Thanks for the compliments on the display as well. I have another display that is much nicer, that one has the same outer design but with glass inside. That part lifts off of a shadow box with red velvet backing, and the display items are compressed as you shut the door. Well, let me take a picture of it, too hard to explain. This particular one is holding some of my coin finds from last year. I have a local craftsman that builds these along with other plaques for some of my clients in my taxidermy business. Oh yeah, excuse the plaster on my hands :-[

well i can help you with your question,yes they did make things out of our junk.i seen one that was made from a red globe.a railroad globe that is jamey

Unless that thing was found in water I would have to think it was a pendant. Nice buck too. :thumbsup:

Looks like polished aqua glass. Was it found in sand?? Killer artifacts I have never seen a case like that.Thanks for showing.

Yeah, it was found in a sandy area but on top of a hill overlooking a river. Looked like the perfect campsite area at one time and it was loaded with chips, some points and that particular piece. It was a while ago but I remember noticing that there were no rocks or pebbles to be found anywhere on that hill. Wish I would have taken time to go back to that spot year after year as they kept plowing it up, guess it is never too late!

looks like beach glass! i can go to a local beach right now and fill a bucket up in 10 minutes. wave action and sand rounds them off over the years!
