There were Narragansett Indians in the battle of the sight I'm digging. Its called the battle of Rhode Island. I know for a fact that they were in the area I'm digging.

They're called rolled copper Tinklers.
They are a native American artifact (historic) likely cut from copper kettles.
That's in amazing condition for dug copper hundreds of years old...I've never seen them dug still strung together.
Sounds like you knew what they were already with your last post

Thanks for the info. I've been researching them and can't find any that are in this condition or even chained together.

What a lucky day out. My buddy found a very old silver broach my guess is around the 1700's.

If you hadn't said 10" deep I would have asked if there were ever re-enactmens or pow wows at that place.
The way they are connected, the fact the thin copper isn't crushed flat and the lack of oxidation seems odd..at ten inches I'd expect them to be flatened

Very nice native American artifact Tinklers. Nice digs.

Try Bowers Museum in Santa Ana Calif. They've been a huge help to me over many years with questions and IDing whatzits.
