Have anyone seen anything like this. Found at an old fish camp in SW Florida. It feels like lead. Can not tell if rod went all the way through or not. Only markings I see are 2 dots on one wing. I do not have a clue. Any ideas?

Instead of lead do you think it could be zinc? if so it could be an anode for a boat that broke away.

You may be on something there. This item weighs 2.0 oz looks and feels like lead. But zinc look’s about like lead. But I guess it could have had a threaded screw end at the larger side.

Consider cleaning inside the circle at either end and let's us know if there is/are broken off studs or if the hole goes all the way through.

After a revisit to this... it dawned on me another idea... perhaps a weight from a floating dive flag or similar.
I have not seen this exact style but just a thought to share.

That is a very common and thoroughly modern sliding sinker.
However lead is going for a couple a bucks a pound.
2 dots= 2oz.

Looks similar to to weight from one of the weighted planers used for deep trolling.
