Listing these bookends tomorrow sometime. They are made with different gauged steel plate. The bottoms are 1/2" thick, the sides are 1/4" and the figures are 1/8" thick. They have an intentional distressed paint and fake rust look to them. They are large and heavy, measuring almost 12 inches tall and weighing just under 16 pounds between the pair. I believe they are one of a kind or at least very limited quantity if not. I've never seen anything like them. I'm looking for a good title and what do you think is a good BIN price or would you list them at auction instead?

They look like they were inspired by native American petroglyphs, very similar to some of the Navajo Yei figures.

Wow, nice job IDing these Gibh. They looked vaguely familiar to me but I couldn't come up with where I'd seen them before. Those are really great bookends. I could be wrong, but they look like unique, hand made folk art pieces to me.

You know, stupid me I have a rug with similar figures depicted on each side of it and I never noticed they were they same as the bookends. Thanks Gib, now all I have to do is figure out how much to list them for. I'm thinking $29.99?

Kidd- I believe they are ooak, they probably came from Arizona or vicinity, since the estate they came from was from an Arizona native who wasn't down here too long before he passed on.

I like a quick sale as much as the next guy but I also hate to leave a lot of money on the table. On an unusual item like this I'd try a 7 day auction started at whatever I'd be willing to accept & if it doesn't sell relist as BIN. In this case I'd probably start at 39.99.

You're welcome. Sometimes it just takes a fresh pair of eyes.

I had it listed as a BIN for $39.99 but I changed it to an auction, just in case. Kind of a unique item, I don't think there will be much fuss over it but you never know.
