Need help with diesel engine ID

[rmptr]

This is NOT detector oriented, but this group here on Tnet is the wisest collection of folks I know of !

An online friend need to identify this 4cyl diesel engine.

Can anyone ID it for us?

Thank you

I apologize for the hijacking too, it was my fault.

Thanks Cheese and KiwiJohn. Sorry Rmptr, it was unintended!

I've been trying to find out what it is too of course but so far haven't been able to find a match.

We'll identify it eventually.

Almost all engines have a wide variety of clues that will help ID them. VIN number, casting numbers, casting dates, manufacturers logo, etc. You have provided none of those so it's a matter of someone coming along who recognises that exact engine. Can you get the numbers & markings from your friend ?
