I googled drawings of Nepal child with llama and couldn't find it but some of the pictures of children have caps that resemble what the child is wearing.

That is a fantastic drawing. You might try looking for Peruvian child and llama.

You'd think this was a South American artist.
The alpaca, (short nose, pointy ears) makes the softest wool, so a child's chullo would most likely be alpaca.
Alpaca and chullo = predominately, The Andes ... except they have spread everywhere.
I tried english and spanish searches, and what's the closest I could find?

Amy Moreno from Virginia ... and Sid Weaver from Baltimore .

Neither one looks right, and both did a variety of work, neither focusing on S. America.
Both could do quick portraits, and, even though Amy's looks simplified, here, she did more involved work that might possibly achieve the level of work on your picture. Don't think it's either of these, though.

I like your picture ... artists like this impress me.

These are mass produced for tha tourist trade in Peru and could be by any one of many artists there. I'm leaning towards Peruvian artist Roxana Gonzales.

It's as you said, a tourist piece. My wife is Peruvian, and I see drawings like this all the time when we visit Lima.
