need help with minelab x-terra 50 New Christmas present

Finally got my Minelab xterra 50 this morning boy was I happy for a little while. Well I put batteries in it, new batteries ( a few different pairs) and nothing. The screen comes on but none of the buttons work and it doesn't detect or anything. Any help would be appreciated. I guess I will probally have to send it back.

Double check how you have the batteries installed.Check that the coil wire is installed properly.Read the manual!

Thanks I have checked the batteries several times, as well as all connections, and have read the manual a few times. Nothing helps so far

Make sure it's not a broken speaker, or headphones not working.

In the manual, there is a procedure to do a factory reset. Give that a try. Good luck.....

Next time buy all fresh batteries as one of them might have been bad. Don't use Lithium.

I used fresh batteries. From two different packs. I really don't think the batteries had anything to do with it. But thanks for all the help. Just sitting back waiting for a response from kellyco. Hopefully I will hear from them tommorrow. Later and good luck

Isn't Kellyco supposed to test these things before they send them out? I know other dealers will do this, but some won't either. A reason to shop at a dealer near you so he can put it together if at all possible. BTW, I specify that a dealer send me products by FedEx now instead of UPS when I can't visit him myself.

It would be impossible for us to physically check every machine we send out of our warehouse to make sure they work correctly. Not to mention the warranty issues we could see if we assemble a product, break it down and then reship it. We are a reseller and depend on the manufacturer to send us quality product. Sometimes there are issues that go unseen by the manufacturer and if one of these is found by the consumer, we are only a phone call away to help you troubleshoot or get you in touch with the appropriate person at the factory that can service your machine under the warranty or provide you with a new machine all together.

Kellyco probably ships more in a day then other dealers sell in a year. They probably sell more in 30 minutes than Local Dealers sell in a year here.
