Need ID Help -- .58 cal. Minie ball?

Found this bullet along an old wagon/stage road in Southern Calif. AI identified it as a fired (slightly deformed) 3-ringer .58 caliber Minie ball. It measures a slight bit longer than 1" and not quite 1/2" wide. Does that ID seem correct? Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Definitely not a 58 cal Minie, looks more like a 45-70.
 
Please post a picture of the base, as well as exact (as close as you can) length and width measurements.

Thanks ncsuwolf. Here are photos showing more accurate measurements and the base, which is convex or hollow. However, there is some deformation of the base, thus making the hollow part hard to see.
