Found this near Toledo bend lake on Texas Louisiana border. It’s sandstone. Maybe a cast. Any info appreciated. D840DAF1-E7E4-46F3-8A30-BFA8564CE99B.jpeg 951F5816-AC59-4305-9F7D-9959297894FA.jpeg

There were bunches of them. That one is laying in my monkey grass. It’s about 30 inches by 8-10 inch diameter. Look closely at the little imprints. Looks like little bugs.

So, can you provide more pics? As mine shaft asked, did you dig it out? Why do you say it's sandstone? Looks shiny for that. Without any information here is my wild-ass guess. That's a portion of mammoth tusk. Those strange marks are from small rodents chewing on it. How's that?

I see your new post. Pull it out and show a complete pic. Your description sounds more like a mammoth tusk. I still say rodent chewings.

I thought Tusk at first too, but now after looking really closely, and knowing the toledo bend area pretty good, im gonna say maybe it was a tree root that was maybe exposed, eaten by bugs, maybe termites, and then was covered up by mud, rotted and was cast in that sandy clay they have there.
The general shape looks like tree roots, but the random pattern looks like maggot impressions.. would love to see more detailed pictures..
Only other thing i can even think of is maybe its pottery artifact of some type?
Great Find..
Very Curious.

It’s not a tusk. It’s a cast of something else. I may have some pics of old stump pertrified it’s definitely some type of sandstone. It’s night . I’ll get better pics tomorrow.
