real nice stuff there.. I like your display. I see deer teeth and jaw section in with the tools made from that animal. I have done the same.

Well, since we are showing off our Bone and Antler items I figure I might as well join the fray.

These pieces are all from Butler county, Ohio and show some Bone Awls, Bone Pins, Deer Antler Arrowpoints, Deer Toe Tinklers, and a couple Antler Drifts.

I'll add some more later, but for now I have to get ready for work.

glad you added... nice stuff. you'll probably be at work before I'm done looking at all of it.

what a lot of goodies
all ferocious stuff

I just got home from work a little bit ago so here's another nice tray of Bone, Antler, Drilled Teeth, and a few Shell items that I got in trade a couple years back. These are from two sites that are in my area. One is the Schisler Site which still exists and the other is the Webster Mound which I believe was destroyed by a housing development. I also included some pictures of the original board they were on. The Bone Awl in the last two pictures I believe also served as a musical instrument and was a Rasp. It has about 8 notches cut into the back side of it.

Okay, now for some personally found pieces. These are all from the same site except for the last 4 pictures which is a combination of Antler Drifts and Deer Antler Arrowpoints from 3 different Ft Ancient sites I hunt.

I have an honest question....do you donate to any organization? I love collecting too but having 100 examples of the same item serves me no purpose. you surely cant display all of that.

Freaking awesome, GrimReaper! I have well over one hundred examples of some artifacts. I've winnowed out a lot of grade B and C and still have a lot of some things (like those hammers in the 5 gallon buckets!). I am thinking SOMEDAY of sending extras off to fellow buddy collectors who don't have these things or who collect similar time period/stuff..... As some here know, I have a problem with sales, booM! Problem is I just can't get it together to send the stuff off! hahahahaha. It's all in bins/boxes/drawers/cases/baggies. Heck, I don't know what I have!?!?

Most of us could probably "dispose" of 50 percent of what we've brought home. Then I bet we could take that down another 50 percent. Leaves the best of the best and the super goodies don't get lost amongst the duff/guac/smeg:laughing7:

I don't donate to museums or anything like that for the fact that it would just end up in a box in the basement or back room and never be seen again. I do however give away things to kids all the time.

Also, I do in fact display all of these items.

Here's a few pictures of my artifact room.

Tom, anytime you want to send a few of those extras along I would surely appreciate it. :laughing7:

great job with the room and the kids!!!!!!"

very welcome. guess I just needed to walk it off. I'm never going to be able to stick my hands through the computer screen so.... I need to let things roll off my back. I've never been a part of a forum of any type.
