A friend found this sticking out of the ground behind her house. It's marked .925 and is hollow with this strange shaman figure on the top.

Hopefully someone recognizes this.

I should say it is Sterling silver. There are many examples of sterling liquor bottle toppers. I didn't find an exact match but many similar ones.

Tourist artistic cover to maybe a long tube that held poles? Mexican, Aztec, or Mayan top character. I don't see the color as silver. It looks like it might be bamboo or a reed material to me.

The top figure is a totem so I would look towards Northwest Indian tribes or the Inuit of Alaska or Canada.

Difficult to tell from your pic... Are those hands holding a child on the midsection of the figure?

If so, it maybe Pacific northwest tribal piece. I also think it's a bottle top of some kind.

Can we see a photo of the .925 silver mark? You will need to use a macro lens setting or a camera that takes in focus close ups..

My friend found it. I should be able to see her this weekend.

I would have to go with South American, Mayan style. They sell all types of stuff there carved with the hands like that, totems, slingshots, etc. But... I couldn't find the exact match...

That definitely looks like the figure.

It appears to be a 925 sterling, foreign silver mark but I dont know which country. It could also be a pseudo-hallmark. It looks pseudo but it could be the camera.

Thanks everyone for the input. I was hoping to see one attached to whatever it was intended for, but that seems like a longshot now. I sent the link to this thread to the woman who found it.
