I moved ya from HELP! over to TREASURE MARKS/SIGNS for more exposure.

NOTE: Forum HELP! contains guides tutorials on how to use the new TreasureNet.com software.

First remove the lichen to fully reveal the carvings.

To me I see the letter M on the right side. I can't really make out the other side , but maybe triangle like arrow pointing up ?
I believe the letter M may stand for the Owl of Minerva. Maybe close to an accumulation room. Maybe saying go to the next valley.
I found a very helpful site you may try called CNY Artifact Recovery. ( Central New York 's leader in historical item recovery). I hope this helps. It is where I got this information
