Need some opinions on selling.

For all halves I find pre-65, I keep one of each date/mint mark in the best condition and sell the rest. I found someone on Craigslist willing to buy 90%'s $20 each and 40%'s for $10 each. I told him they're worth half that at best but he said he already knew that. :icon_scratch:

I also said I only accept cash in person.

What do you think of this? Too good to be true or a great selling opportunity?

Just tell them to meet you in front of the Police Station. I used to go to School in CalPoly. I recall I didn't like the cops there much back then but I was an idiot college student back then too.

And we met at the BOA downtown and everything went perfectly. He bought my only 5 '64 halves for $100 total and offered to buy anything else I find in the future. Just an average guy in his 20's who's into coin collecting. :dontknow:

I still have no idea why he offered so much.

That guy is crazy. But then again he only paid $100. Not much more than what a college student could afford. I was a ME there too but that was long ago. I later transferred to UC Davis. I got tired of the small town SLO life and all those labs. Thought I would never graduate. I recall CRHing there back then. The BOA on Marsh St. gave me a roll of 40%er back then. Of course back then they were worth $.55 each. You can do the math and figure out when I last went to school there. Didn't do any boxes there. I did enquire about it once and they told me it would take like 2 weeks to ship a box there. I opted not to do it. When I got to UC Davis is when I really started to order a box a week. Of course, those days were better for CRHing and long ago.

Yep, that's the BOA I dump at now. :tongue3:

I pick up at the Heritage Oats across the street from that BOA and the US Bank on Madonna. We have a Chase on campus now which is perfect for dumps too.

And coming from Vegas, I actually love SLO. Of course the location and weather is much better but it feels different from a bigger city. That and it's much easier to get around with no car.

And I love the labs! Some of the reports can get annoying but I really enjoyed my first quarter.

Dude, If you know a cop get him to go with you if you insist on person.If not ask one hell prob do it for lunch. I was in law enforcement for 11 yrs. Dont pack heat that will get you messed up or someone else. Meet at a public place across from a bank make your deposit and Dont go straight home but make 4 left turns. If you think your being followed call the cops. Be safe and take care coop.

Probably a good idea to stay away from craigslist unless you are experienced with it.
