Traverlling to Phoenix area late Feb/Early March , probably travel northwards for day or two. Would like any tips on coin shooting in hard pack or nuggets without getting into trouble with the law and or rattlesnakes. Never been to that area. looking forward to it. Thanks for any help. Warren

Rattlesnakes shouldn't be a problem in the winter! ;)
All the Same, Watch where you step!
For "coin shooting", go out to the picnic areas, east of Phoenix, out around and along the Salt/Verde Rivers!
Thousands :o of people use these areas each summer !
No Cops!
And! It is legal to wear a shootin' iron, ;D as long as it is in the "Open" !
Not! Like Canada where you can't even own a Six Shooter! :-\
For "Nuggets" go EAST of Phoenix and then West or North/South of Wickenburg !
Some real nice size nuggets :o have come out of the Desert, out tha' way!

:) Thanks eh ! , That's a start. Need lot's more info on desert hunting. I use a CZ6A and it's plenty sensitive when in all metal. I'm not a newbie to the hobby but had to re register since I didn't post for a while. Would like to even get together with an area hunter to experiment in panning. Our rivers and streams seem to be a loss for gold right around here. The chance to sport a 6 shooter there must make you feel like the wild west days. My friend that I am visisting has just bought a place in phoenix and I am pretty sure he would like the panning idea as well. If I get a response to that, I will order in a garrett panning kit to bring with me. One nugget , just one , is all I ask. Thanks....Warren(Ont)

There are any number of places that you can go to do some panning !
One of the best would be to head up to The Bradshaw Mnts !
"Turkey Creek" comes to mind, as does My Favorite (Name) " Big BUG Mesa "!
Or, Up to the area at the head of " Lake Pleasent" !
There is a canyon up there, where a friend and I, reguarly find nice nuggets! :P
"Especailly after the "Rains" !
Both Panning & MD'ing !
I need to head up there one day, and find where they are coming from! 8)
Might be a "Bonaza" there! :o
