The one on the right looks like the maker's mark on the bottom of a piece of pottery.

Its a small plate i purchased at a thrift store

why is the white imprint so white, no bleed
IMO - doesn't look like the white was fired on the plate

It just wasn't glazed during the firing so the maker's imprint could be seen.

I ask if the OP highlighted the white lettering prior to posting? Or was this "as found"?

a lot of times those are signatures and about as easy to read for a Chinese person as it is for us to read someone else's signature on..well...anything actually....
