Hope someone can help me with a problem with my AT Pro!!!
I'm currently in Rivera Maya Mexico. I was hunting with my pro and I lost the pin pointer on my machine. I found the coil connection loose. I disconnected the coil plug, and cleaned the connector on the control box, now I can't get the machine to turn on. Anyone with any information would be too appreciated....

Good luck! Let's bump your thread up for visibility.

Thanks, Deepseeker. I have four days left to hunt here and I think I'm dead in the water, so to speak.

maybe clean the connection again and make sure all 4 off the male pins made it correctly into the female connectors

Check and make sure you have not bent or broken on of the pins in the connector. Now i'm going to ask you a real off the wall question. Have you checked your batteries, when you cange batteries last did you install all new. Like I said off wall question but one never knows batteries could ave gone out the same time you cleaned and reconnectd the coil. But I would bet money that one of the pins got bent when reconnecting the plug. The one thing I wish Garrett would change on the AT very diffcult to connect the coil and headphones, got to have really small nimble fingers.

You may have some water damage? If possible, keep it in front of a fan, air conditioner, or in a very warm environment (not too hot) to help remove any moisture.

I am puzzled on why it won't fire up? A wet plug or broken pin will still allow the unit to fire up. Re-check your battery order. Put the battery connectors on your tongue, and you should feel a small tickle. If not, you may have faulty batteries or faulty battery holder.

Good luck!

Thanks, All for your suggestions. K checked the line on the coil and the control box, All were straight. I checked the batteries that were in Pro. They were still good, but I changed them out with new anyway. Nothing happened. I have let it sit in the room overnight. Will try to see if it works this morning.
Thanks Again.

Also be sure and do a factory reset. Hold the power button down while turning it on until you hear a double beep (about ten seconds).

Good luck, sounds like you might have some water damage or a broken pin on the coil connection.

I tried the factory reset. None of the pins seem to be broken. The only sound I get is a sound like old ham radio static. Unit won't fire up. I guess I'll be calling Garrett when I get back home.
Thank for all your help.

just remembered something that may be useful, i am a slob and never clean my at pro ,about once a year my buttons will clog with sand, i just hold it upside down manipulate the buttons ,sand falls out good again,

Thanks for the info, the lama. I rinsed the AT with fresh water every time I came back from the beach and hunt it upside down to drain. Now that I'm back home, I'm going to see if it will fire up if not I'll be calling Garrett.

I read where someone else's not powering on a year or two ago , if I remember correctly it turned out to be the battery pack terminals not making contact....not sure exactly what the fix was but if that's a possibility with yours then there is often a quick fix or atleast temporary patch for that sort of thing.

Thanks for the info ohiochris. I contacted Garrett service department Friday, I sent the control unit and my coils to them to see what the trouble was. According to the service rep he has never heard of my problem before. The bad news is my warranty expired in August. So I guess it's a waiting game now. I'll keep everyone informed of what they say. Thanks Again for all your support.
