The name says it all but for what it was used for?
Think its a lead composite. Its a soft metal but not like pure lead.
Also 1-1/4" dia.

Looks like the top of a sink drain with the post broke. Just a guess

My first thought was a D cell battery top but after looking a little closer, I think that it is the top to a NEVERLEAK Tire Fluid tube. If you look closely at the photo, you can see the printing on the top.

Agree with creskol. What where those old squeeze tubes made of? Some kind of zinc tin alloy ??

Don't know squat about old bias tires or what a veneer would be for but looks good for an ID for me. :icon_thumleft: Thanks creskol.
