went back where i found that fat 14k this morning.a cute wife ask if id found a mans wedding band and described it perfect...grrrr i said yes and came home and got it and returned it to them. made a very happy vacation for them!

respect and honesty can not be bought at any price but sadly often its very sold cheaply ---you got my respect for doing a good deed and the "right thing" ---a small gas money & time and effort tip if offered (say $20) would have been ok to take in my book --- however if not freely offered by them I would not ask for it . Dixie Digger, remember the feeling you had when you lost something valuable and you keep going back to the same place and still can't find it? Then later you find it? It is such a relief. You know that the couple is telling all their friends about the nice person with the metal detector that found their ring. You did the hobby good.
