Just received my Pro with 5×8 coil earier this week and finally had the chance to see what it could do this weekend. Good timing there doing alot of road tearouts and redo's here near old downtown, last couple of months they were doing the sidewalks in which I had my best hunts ever which I am still trying to get a post together on all my finds, overwhelming! . Anyways back to this weekend. Started at 6:00 am on Saturday on a promising road where on the sidewalk tearout I plucked out my 1928 Peace dollar. 10 min in got my first signal,8" Inches down I found my first At Pro find, a Indian head cent that is really toasted and still trying to clean to get a date. Over the last 2 days I found alot and learned alot about the pro, I found the id is very very accurate an

d the pinpointing is dead on. I gained a few more inches than my GTA 1000 could provide, the Silver quarter I found was at around 12 inches which really impressed me, my arm and hand still ache from digging it out of this HARD Vegas dirt. Although my gta is great at seperating trash from target there is no comparison to what this pro can do, sooo much easier to decide to dig or not. Found alittle of everything, surface and of course buried, Siver quarter, dime and war nickel was great to see come out of the ground. Here are the pics of my finds. Going back next week to hopefully catch my permission hunt on a great house frim the early 1900's. Homeowner was not home, cant wait till next week.

I feel the same, think the 5x8 is staying on my machine, also im used to the smaller coil, my Gta 1000 has the 5x10 elliptical.

Nice finds. I have had my AT Pro about six months now. Used the 8 1/2 X 11 coil about a week before I ordered the 5x8. The 5x8 has been on ever since. I have done well with the AT going back over old areas that I have covered many times with my other detectors. Very pleased with it and the smaller coil lets me look for hours without tiring out.
Congrats and HH

Awesome finds, man!

Still learning, I knew my GTA 1000 soooo well, after 18+ years, but after my first hunt I realized the potential in the At Pro. Still fooled by chunks of Aluminum. But dont mind going back too school with the results I have gotten, the 5x8 is definitely the way to go on this machine. Good luck with your hunts.

Just curious..who does one get permission from for a tearout hunt? Is it fair game cause its city property? There is alot of street construction going on in my town..in the old section too...would love to try this...amazing finds btw...got me considering a new at!

I never had a problem detecting on the weekends when the construction activities are at a halt on street tearouts. I still treat it as if im on private property as you stated, try to leave no traces that I was there, stay away from there earth moving equipment. If I do bump into a worker I ask who is in charge and let them know I will not disturb any of there equipment or damage any layout lines or detect in areas that are a danger to myself.and stay out of anyones way if there is activity going on. There usually non intrested and say no problem. If its going on for awile there used to seeing you there and show you no notice. Ive become a regular downtown on the weekends and have become friends with alot of the cops who actually stop talk and look out for me, kinda nice because alot of the areas are not in great areas.of course if its posted no trespassing and gated your out of luck unless someone allows you in which they have done for me before after they realized I was no threat. Hope this helps. Good luck and HH.

Just remember theres also ALOT of metal trash, I dig almost every signal. Its paid off on some really nice relics. Also keep your eye out for the old bottles.

I also ordered the 5x8 with my standard order, and actually have not used the 8x11 as of yet. As the areas I am detecting right now really need the separation that the 5x8 offers. Glad you had some awesome finds. HH

Nice finds RayRay! I'm saving up to get a new detector. My White's Classic SL1 is about 20 years old! It's definitely a "beep and dig" machine. I'm trying to decide if I want the AT pro for the extra few dollars, and your post makes a good argument for it.

Congratulations on a nice haul. I'm jealous.

My first detector over 20 years was a Whites Classicll, saved enough from clad and jewelry finds to purchase my Ultra Gta 1000 about 8 months after that. she was my detector all that time in between and I never felt the need to upgrade until the Pro surfaced and so I started saving for it, was a long wait but definitely worth it.hope u get your soon if you decide to go the Pro route, HH.
