I had the best day ever. Then I get home and was cleaning my finds and thought I was cleaning a Eagle button without a button back. Then I noticed a eye down inside. I got out the Aluminum jelly and brought this ALABAMA VOLUNTEER CORP button to life.

Between the research , door knocking , waiting for harvest & hunting season end, this has been in the works for 9 months. Thank goodness digging time is here.

They are. This just has the back pushed in. Only the center of the back is left and some how bonded with the face...

Thank you. It's my best find ever. I missed the thrill of knowing what I had when I pulled it out of the ground because it looked like another eagle button and I haven't been cleaning these buttons in the field because they have so much guilt. I leave them in wet dirt until I get home so they don't dry out and flake off.
Yes I'm 99% sure that is a gun tool.

Well you did a good job of cleaning it, it looks great. I've been trying to dig more iron signals where I finding a lot of CW stuff but hadn't come up with a gun tool yet. Way to go!!

Thanks again, I've been try dig more iron especially if it sounds bigger then a square nail. It's been a lot of digging but I got a few keepers. I got a bullet worm last week. HH
