Went back to my new cellar and out came all the Colonial stuff :headbang:

After digging over 70 shotgun shells between the 2 days its finally producing Colonial relics but no coins from the colonial days :dontknow:

I must say i got the sickest colonial shoe buckle i have ever found :hello2:
It has so much decor on it..Im gonna have to clean this one good :icon_thumleft:
It was only 3 inches deep or so.
Pulled a couple of chapes also.
More key hardware :icon_thumleft:

The farm fields are really clear with hardly no brush but near the cellar is kind of overgrown..

I pulled another largie from the same area i got 5 from

Stayed away from that bee nest :laughing7:

This winter when it clears out i most def will pound it really hard

Got another crotal bell and a few buttons..I dont know if the buttons have any decor on them yet.
The dandy buttons have not surfaced but they will..

Cool,
half dollar size probably from clock movement, looks like the dug anchor shown might match it for size. (shown with US Cent)
Below from Wiki:
Invented around 1660 by Robert Hooke, the anchor mechanism quickly superseded the verge to become the standard escapement used in pendulum clocks through the 19th century. Its advantage was that it reduced the wide pendulum swing angles of the verge to 3°-6°, making the pendulum isochronous, and allowing the use of longer, slower moving pendulums, which used less energy. It is responsible for the long narrow shape of most pendulum clocks, particularly grandfather clocks.

It consists of an escape wheel with pointed, backward slanted teeth, and an 'anchor' shaped piece pivoted above it which rocks from side to side, attached to the pendulum. The anchor has slanted pallets on the arms which alternately catch on the teeth of the escape wheel, receiving impulses.

Thanks Herbie looks like you nailed it with that research :icon_thumleft:

I would have liked to see this in working order in its day ;D

Nice buckle JB! The T2SE is next on my wish list, but that sure is a chatty rascal, isn't it? And I thought the MXT was noisy!

I would keep a close tally of the quality of items you start pulling. It seems to me, and I am far from any kind of expert, that the buckle is pretty ornate. I have seen a bunch in museums years ago and most dont have lots of patterning on them. Clocks were a premium during those days and if you are finding higher quality stuff, you may have a wealthier estate. That could point you to other possible locations on site that you may not find on a poor farm? Or help with identifying the colonial landowners? Exciting spot you have!
