I'm gushing with pride at my achievement....to win this contest is beyond belief....all of my hard work and training has finally paid off...though there was stiff competition along the way....many times I thought of giving up...I kept my eye on the prize...what was the prize anyway?

In my end is my beginning....I think T.S Eliot said that...from the four quartets....what's interesting about his poetry is when I visited each place he mentions....ie Little Gidding, East Coker etc...you immediately recognize what he was writing about...
I wouldn't know anything about Eliot if my wife hadn't introduced me to his writing...I followed her around on her pilgrimages...I did get to meet Seamus Heaney as well at an Eliot festival in Little Gidding...and told him about a fantasy dinner she wanted to have.. at the dinner would be Heaney, Desmond Tutu, Eddie Izzard from the 1990's, and another person who I can't remember...Anyway, after he spoke and was getting on the bus he met with my wife and nearly patted her on the head...I think he would have said yes to a dinner...my impression of him was that he was a really kind person....Anyway, enough stories, I think I've told this one already...getting senile, back to the "new" contest. I temporarily win! Oh, did I tell you about the Eliot festival where I met Seamus Heaney? Anyway, there I was standing in line waiting for him to sign a book....when I told him about a dinner party fantasy my wife had...........and this guy cut in front me.....

Seamus stayed at my parent's place a few times.. they ran a guest house and he visited for the festivals in the area, celebrating Irish culture.. Most of the 'Irish celebrity' crowd (of sorts) stayed at some stage, often with a bottle opened and 'wild craic' late into the night,, the Dubliners were always a laugh as too were the Clancy Brothers.... met them all I have...
