A very raining day in the great state of Connecticut. Still have to go shopping.

Well Sam, maybe you should just buy water.
Don't matter if the water gets wet.

What is real funny to me is with people who want to ban plastic shopping bags. Sounds good except when it is raining or snowing real hard.

They wanted to charge 5 cents per plastic bag in NYC,, except for people on welfare or senior citizens. Everything was put on hold when someone said it was Discrimination. Why do welfare recipients and senior citizens get to pollute the environment for free??

Because we are welfare recipients and seniors on a fix income and on food stamps. Free us now. You all have to think. when it is raining and or snowing, when going outside to our cars, paper bags will break up and our items are all over our shopping carts. Think about it. I am a senior and on a fix income and proud of it. Power to us on a fix income.

Home from work time to make dinner

Whoever called the later years in life "The Golden Years"
Must have been color blind, and couldn`t tell Gold from Rust !
Just sayin

My income is fixed and I am still working, not really sure what the difference is??? This much in, this much out same every month pretty much.

I know the pain and yet I am not a senior yet. 6 herniated disks will do that to ya!

We seniors are full of pains and hurts.
My dad is 75 and we drove all afternoon and walked around battling out some storage auctions again. Didn't win one but we did a few weeks back and he was right there loading stuff up with me. We loaded and unloaded a huge unit. He has worked hard his whole life from 16 on his own living in a barn to now as he cuts wood and stays active. He struggles to keep up but never complains. I believe there are different mind sets in different people on how they perceive the way they go out (as we all will at some point, and on what they have or have not done.) Some stay busy until they cannot while others feed off their hard work.....the fall of Rome.....lmao....and you all thought I was getting deep up in here!!! Lol

Yup, here in California they have already been banned. We can pay 10 cents for a “heavy duty” plastic bag if we don’t bring our own to the store, but the good ‘old days of the plastic bag is over.

Sam,, the whole issue about stopping the use of plastic bags is the fact that they are not biodegradable. Therefore they are harmful to the environment. They shouldn't be put in landfills or the ocean. No one is picking on senior citizens or people on welfare. Many stores are trying to encourage their customers to use and re-use cloth bags. That would eliminate the need for plastic bags.
To say that the only people who will pay for the continued use of plastic bags are people who are not yet 62 or who are not on public assistance is discriminatory. When it comes to saving the environment, either everybody pays or nobody pays.
