Went back to a spot I’d hit hard with the AT Pro. I was swinging the Nokta Makro Simplex I picked up last summer. The Simplex hits hard on midtones and between pull tabs I plucked out these .44 Short rimfire cases that I’d probably passed on with the Garret.

TheSimplex is fantastic on brass. Great, clear tones. Congrats!

I can't imagine missing those cartridges with any metal detector, unless they were really deep. Any brass case I have found has given a powerful signal.

These are copper cases. Not sure why I didn’t dig these before, the Pro is a little harder for me to “hear” certain items in trashy areas. There is a lot of sheet metal and old pull tabs in the ground.

I use my Legend most of the time because I dig waaay less trash with it, but, when the Simplex locks onto a target there's no ignoring it!
It has a much more 'urgent' sound, especially when it locks onto a ring. For that reason it's my go-to for 'looked-out' areas.
