New Equinox Update 2.0 Coming?

This Is what i've seen:

" Based on the data received from Equinox users from around the world, some software adjustments were made to improve the operation of the basic functions of the device. In addition, smoother backlighting has been made possible for the Minelab Equinox 600.
Now the EQUINOX 600 has a function to adjust the backlight brightness - “Low”, corresponding to the minimum backlight level of the EQUINOX 800.
And, probably, the most anticipated - thanks to the addition of a new settings profile, the advanced Iron Indicator feature has become available.
The initial settings of the Iron Indicator EQUINOX (Fe) will also be available, but now it is possible to switch to the new setting Fe 2. When turned on, a wider range of iron targets is cut off from the search, including and bottle caps"

Can anyone confirm?

From what you have seen and posted here looks like its for the 600 only.

Except for the backlight tweak, It is for both.

Interesting. Any idea on when this download will be available?

Well that is interesting. Hopefully we will see more software updates like this from Minelab for other machines. Did you find this on Minelab website?

Not sure, it seems to be imminent (within days or a few weeks).

I saw something that looked like a ML e-mail "flyer" announcement that someone had screen grabbed off of a Russian detecting site. That usually is click bait, but I subsequently saw a facebook post by Andy Sabisch (author of various ML and XP detector handbooks) basically confirm the rumor as true. We will have to wait a bit as I am sure that ML does not want to steal the "thunder" (lol) from their recent Vanquish announcement yet may want to ride enough of the waning Vanquish Detectival publicity wave to re-stimulate interest in the Equinox (at least that how I would play it if I were king of the ML marketing department).

Yea, Andy was at Detectival so he probably got the low down directly from the ML guys there. I am in the middle of reading Andy’s book on the Equinox. It is packed with wealth of collected knowledge. Also, sounds right about the current marketing campaign for the vanquish. I am about to pull the plug on an excal soon so will have to buy some more books to read

I just got this reply from Minelab:

"Hello Matthew,

Thank you for your email, we have not heard of a software update 2 here in the service department. You can download the current software for the Equinox using the Equinox updater 1.1.1 by clicking on the below link to our website.

I have forwarded your email to our engineering team for their input.

Kind Regards,

Several years ago I attended one of Andy's classes on Minelabs. Straight up guy, very serious about what he's into.

You can't hurt yourself attending one of his "classes".

I've only received the one update thus far...same with you all?

I bought my Equinox in Toronto a little over a year ago. I was back there about 2 weeks ago and on the wall was a banner that stated. Minelab will be making a surprise announcement in the very near future.

I have a feeling that surprise announcement had to do with the new Vanquish.

I agree. They kind of went overboard on their marketing of what essentially is a multifrequency version of an Ace 400 (at least that is what the Vanquish 440 is).

Update released and already installed on my Equinox 800.

Yipeeee

Matt

I just went to see which version i had and saw the 2112, got installed. seems interesting in my pounded yard, couple possible deep silvers to check in morning.
