New field hunt today short but a nice green patina BUCKLE !! ? not sure on date

I thought i would try a field at the end of my block where i live the owner said long ago it grew corn wheat beans you name it , right now its over grown but the last big storm here knocked down all the high grass so it wasn't to bad i got a good signal about 10 minutes up a hill 8 inches deep i dug out a nice green buckle but iam not sure of a date on this one if any one does feel free to say plus i dug a nice heavy drawer knob brass i think looks old and a few whats isits .My next day off ill stay longer a few hours but it was good to try that field finally , i did ask the owner is he at anytime in the future going to cut that field down he said sure do i know how to drive a tractor ?? actually i do dang ill cut it down Good Hunting Dd60

Dude, That is OLD! Nice one! You really want to find the site it came from

It's very close to one I'm looking at that dates 1600-1720. I would guess yours is in that range too.

Dude, That is OLD! Nice one! You really want to find the site it came from

It's very close to one I'm looking at that dates 1600-1720. I would guess yours is in that range too.

That field is just a 5 minute walk from my home all the land out here goes back to the mid 1600,s once in awhile i find some really old relics even coins i have the spot marked in the field i found that its on a hill i kind of figured it was old but not that old Thanks IP if you find more post it Dd60

It falls into the catergory of double looped oval buckle yours is a variation of that buckle, and a nice one at that

Sorry wasn't commenting on age, just that I saw another one posted on Tnet. This type has stumped me for age, nothing to compare it to in my books & never seen any found in the UK

Plehbah is right. That is no ordinary find!

Somewhere near where that buckle came up is a homestead site. You need to hunt those fields, near springs, and on the banks of creeks just out of the flood zone. If you can manage to find a house site that early, you will make some Rare finds for sure.
