I managed to get out for a couple of hours this morning on a new field just down the road to me. I met up with a couple of other detectorists and had a chat, a cup of coffee and also a good look at the new Xp Deus one of the guys was using, then walked on to the new field. Within 4 or 5 minutes I found the hammered coin, it looks like an Elizabeth 1st penny but could be a Mary. Then the Roman coins started coming up, a couple of them are even half decent. Lots of buttons, musket balls, buckles and other artifacts. As I say the field looks promising
. The other guys did well too, they found a few Roman coins and a decent dolphin brooch (Garrett GTI 2500). Any way here are a few pics
The whole collection

Reverse of the Bessy(?) Penny

Obverse of the penny

Obverse of one of the 2 good roman coins

Obverse of the other roman coin

Reverse of the same coin

The batteries ran out on the camera before I could finish the photo shoot, but I will try to remember to take some more pics tomorrow
