New Field

I went to a field I have never looked before yesterday. The had put in seed beds but had not had much rain (maybe 1/2 inch.) Within 10 feet on the first row I found this one. It is very thin.

This was a real heartbreaker.

It's coastal plains chert.

Nice looking recent finds Americus. That big Sav. river would have been a good one. I'd say 9 out of 10 Savannah Rivers I find are broken, but up here they used mainly quartzite. The chert examples you find are of much better lithic quality.
