New find on the Harpeth river

Been a while seen I’ve posted. Was able to get out on the Harpeth River this weekend and got lucky. I’ll add a few more pics later. It’s super thin. What do you think.

I like it! I haven’t had much luck finding those big lance like blades. The material looks great wet is it a jasper?

There is such a thing as a Harpeth River projectile points. Crossed my mind whether yours may be a preform for it.

Those are very old and localized points. I always viewed them as knives. Who knows. Lot's of nice stuff from Tennessee but you don't see it posted much anywhere.

Possibly a Copena or Adena .

Yes but at the moment can not think of it.... Maybe "bangor" ? Nope its "Dover"

BTW my nephew fishes and hunts on the Harpeth river it is a old and beautiful area as is Stones and Duck river. Chock full of artifacts.

Years ago I was in Murfreesboro as the supervisor for a construction project. Not far away on the Stones River was a large farm. Above the gate leading up to the farm was a big sign with the name of the farm. Arrowhead Farm. I stopped there many times to ask permission to look for points but the gate was always chained shut and it appeared the farm was in disuse. Likely being turned into another subdivision.

Everything I have found has mainly been from the Harpeth. Every time it floods, it’s like a new landscape!

Gravel bars are always nice. I used to carry a rake and do a little maintenance myself!😅
