Detector(s) used
Bounty Hunter Lone Star
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Hi,

My names Joe, I've been wanting a metal detector for some time and my wife spotted a Bounty Hunter Lone Star in the local pawn shop for $50.00. I cant wait to start using it. My wife already told me I can't dig up the yard so I'll start looking for places tomorrow. I've heard the Lone Star is a good introductory model and I've been reading the manual tonight to get a feel for how to do it.

Welcome to the site!!! I would suggest digging every target. Don't get discouraged by pull tabs or bottle caps and nails. I would suggest getting a pair of head phones as they will save your batteries and help you hear the tones better. I have a pair of the Garret ones that swivel flat and fine they work well and with the swivel are less likely to break. One other tip after you dig up a target be sure to check the spot again before filling in the hole sometimes things like to hide on top of each other.

Thanks, those are great tips!
