Spent countless hours watching the instructional videos and You tube video. Got my AT Pro last night and went out first thing this morning. Practiced for about an hour at a local park. Already learning. Can pull tabs registering at 53. Found my first copper 1972 penny. This was a big find for me, as I was able to successfully locate my first coin without a pin pointer.

Confused about receiving high tones registering around 75 and when I go back over the spot, cannot get it to register again. I know I need alot more practice, but is this what they call a false reading? This happenned alot.

My adventures begin!

This helped me a lot, I made a cheat cheat chart and keep it with me at all times when MD'ing. make a copy of this and laminate it . Iput half in front and the other half in back to make it big enough to read but small enough to put into the carrying bag. I hope this helps you out. VDI reading test numbers.

Just curious as I was looking at this same machine maybe for future purchase.
How come all the foil and pull tabs ring up as good items? Would you not do a lot of digging anyway?

thanks all for the info. I went out again this evening and found another penny. Dug three other holes with no success. I dont have a pin pointer yet and was getting nervous because i was at a local park getting alot of dirty looks. I did fill my holes as if I was never there. Will check out the AT Pro forum for suggestions on the falsing.

Welcome to the forum, make sure you have ground balanced the detector, and start off with your sensitivity turned down a notch or two. You might be running it to high, or not properly ground balanced. The unit should not false - you can do a factory reset by holding the power button "ON" for 10-20 seconds until you hear a double beep.

I run mine In pro zero with iron discrimination on 36.
