Jim, welcome to the forum. It is a good place to ask questions and learn and then teach or help someone else if you know the answer. We all keep on learning and when we stop, we're dead.

Some areas of this forum are for Charter Members only and they have paid to use it. You can become a Charter Member also. Click on the Charter Members! in the box above and read how to join.

Good luck and hope you enjoy the forum.....

Hey Guys;
Sorry I was venting after registering the other day.
Just couldn't grasp why the confirmation would assume I'd used a wrong e-mail address to reg. and so it took a couple of tries for me to decide to ignore that box. As for the Charter Member statement, I didn't have time to read far enough to discover I needed to pay for that privilege. Further, it was mention of a Corps of Eng. Permission letter which drew me to the site initially and not knowing about being a Charter Member etc... So I have some knowledge now I didn't have before, Thanks.I have had some contact with Corps-types and seem to recollect permission to hunt swimming areas wasn't a problem but that was YEARS ago. I recently discovered Friendly Metaldetecting Forum and have been enjoying posting my finds, hearing about/seeing the other's finds too. I noticed Max VaBch posts here too, I really enjoy his posts and wish I had the time to be in the "lane" as much as he is.
looking forward to seeing all your successes and showing mine too. I also recently bought an Excalibur1000 and can't wait for my July 4th week at Myrtle Beach!! On that note, does anyone know where to obtain a block of floation foam. I'm talking about the kids "noodle" type stuff as it needs no protective coating.<just want it in a rectanglular not round shape> I found some large styro-foam blocks from a furniture store's shipping refuse but it will require fiberglassing or something to keep it from disintegrating from use at the beach. Not being a surfboard maker I'd prefer something a tad more "ready-made".
Happy Hunting all.
Jim

Jim I hunt Myrtle some are you from that area? I just got back found some junk jewlrey and one nice 10k gold braclet.

Jim go to

www.brokendetector.com Keith Wills site hes the nicest guy you'll ever meet and the man that got us permission to hunt the corp lakes. I don't know how to post the link but if you go there you will see the Corp link it has helped me many times to have this printed information when a park attendant didn't know the rules.
