New here from NE PA

Hi! I'm kinda new to this whole panning for gold/ metal detecting. I'm currently interested in panning for gold in my area. I live near the Allentown area (northampton) and I was looking for close places to start panning. I heard about wind gap but I haven't found much info about where to pan there.... Also a few Oyer places I would like to try are glen onoko in Jim Thorpe and also I have a cabin near Marshall's creek... Any places up there? Thanks!

Welcome R_ don't quote me on this but I think glen onoko is part of
Lehigh Gorge state park. If true Gold panning is probably a no .
you would need to call or find a ranger.

However detecting is allowed. Been a good 12 years or more since I detected there,
but it used to be a big resort.
