I'm new here. So I'd like to say, hello. I collect just about anything that's old or interesting. A lot of things I find myself, many I buy and trade for. I also like local history and related. I look forward to learning a few things here. I haven't looked at a single post yet so, here it goes. I'll be sure to let you know what I think. Thanks for the opportunity.

Welcome historian! I joined less than two months ago myself. Hope you enjoy this forum as much as I have.

Wow! What a nice welcome. Thank you all! I look forward to making a few post and showing off a little of what I have. I also like to try to figure out what others have also.
I have been scrounging and have been a collector/dealer for over 25 years. I do a little door-knocking and I like to dig dumps and privies. I haven't gotten a detector yet but I plan on it for spring. I'm saving for a good one.
I look forward to asking and answering a few questions. Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Here are a few pictures of my digs.

Hi and welcome! My wife and I are new here also, and everyone has been nice! HH Treasurecowboy & Ladybug

Welcome!
Well it looks like you got the digging part down. I don't think they make a detector that goes as deep as that hole you dug!

What detectors are you looking into buying? Are you going exclusively for relics? There's a lot of folks who do that here.

They might be of some assistance in your decision.

Welcome!! I see you already have an excavator so I guess a detector is the next logical step. ;D

Hi Folks

Brand new to metal detecting but always been curious. I do have a cheap, but not too cheap, detector that I have uses once while at the beach. What a thrill it was to find some coins and a necklace, even if they weren't very old. The detector has been boxed up since then, but the urge to go has hit me again.

Searching the net for places to search in Pittsburgh, PA has brought me here. This is probably the best site I have seen and I have spent the better part of the past three days reading through all of the adventures, mysteries and stories. It sure made my nights at work go faster.

With that, I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully I'll post some picture of my first true find. Any words of advice would be greatly accepted.
