Welcome aboard! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Tennessee for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome from White Plains, New York! Ace 350 is a good machine - Here are some others:

Detector avators 2014.webp Welcome from N. Mississippi.

Never heard of a detector that could find Ginseng. Could sell a bunch of them though. Welcome from Greene County. Where ya at in East TN ?

Welcome to TN and hey there Bandit!

Welcome from the southeast corner. If you live south of The Smoky Mountain National Park then you can try my Garrettt Ace 350 and see if you like it. ( I bought my wife several detectors including a Fisher F2 ) If you live north of the park up towards the Nolichucky , then thats too far of a drive. So if you live Vonore or south , let me know. You find us some cool places to hunt like old churches or old mill sites , I will bring a selection of machines to try. Go Butch Jones !

Keep in mind its illegal to metal detect within the National Forest. And TVA get all bent out of shape and will arrest you for hunting on their lands. Learn the laws. Federal Government extremes dont bother me much. There are plenty of places to hunt here. A few more thoughts... what are you wanting to detect for ? If I was you I would focus on old schools and churches and hunt for coins. There are better detectors than the ace 350 for coin hunting. Regarding other types of hunting ....civil war sites are almost nonexistent. Why ? Because the Civil War was documented and written about and most of their camping places have been found. East Tennessee is full of homesteads. That would be a good focus. The Ace 350 would be good for that but f you buy the buy the smaller coil found on the ace 250. It would be better for a beginner in a trashy area and the larger coil for other applications like hunting minnie ball bullets in fields.

Welcome from Florida as you can see their are a lot of good people to give you info here Terry's video are great check to see if there is a club near you members will generally help you out and even let you try detectors out to see if it's something you like nothing better than hands on.

When you get one make a test plot to check you and the detector out and remember fill holes and take the trash out Good Luck and Happy Hunting
